Graduate Student Orientation

Orientation

Welcome to Graduate Studies at Cal Poly Humboldt! We are pleased to welcome 560 new and returning graduate students this semester from all corners of the globe and across the California region and the Northern Humboldt community.

The start of the academic year provides an ideal time to reflect on the past and focus on all that lies ahead. These moments of reflection and goal setting are important to restore our energy and set up for a productive year. Returning students begin the new academic year with greater knowledge, wisdom and confidence and they understand what it takes to not only succeed but to excel in their programs of study. New graduate students will find many opportunities to become part of our university community and gain experiences to confirm that they have made the right decision in selecting Cal Poly Humboldt for their graduate education. Please join opportunities within your College and across the University that will help you find your niche on campus and enhance your graduate studies.

It is an honor and pleasure to continue to serve graduate students and faculty in my role as Dean of Graduate Studies. My office is here to support you so please use the resources we have available.

I look forward to this new academic year and to advancing the College’s administration and delivery of more than 12 CPH graduate programs!

Best wishes for a productive and successful year.

Sincerely,

Dr. Carmen Bustos-Works

Vice President of Academic Programs and Dean of Undergraduate and Graduate Studies
